This announcement will be used to fill a current vacancy in the Boise Veterans Home.

The current opening requires a CNA certification and valid driver's license (please see questions # 3 & #4 of the exam).

You must be able to transport residents weighing 300-400 pounds in their wheelchairs. 

In order to protect the safety of vulnerable adults, the Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) may require applicants to pass a criminal history background investigation after a conditional offer of employment.


  • Implements physical therapy plans initiated by professional staff, including ambulation, range of motion, and exercise classes
  • Implements occupational therapy plans initiated by professional staff, including feeding, eye/hand coordination, dressing program, and activities of daily living
  • Prepares equipment and insures availability of supplies for use in therapy
  • Monitors and records residents participation, responses, and progress
  • Instructs residents and families in simple treatment procedures
  • Provides personal care to geriatric residents, including taking and recording vital signs, feeding, lifting, positioning, transporting, and escorting residents and providing personal hygiene care

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Some knowledge of body mechanics
  • Experience monitoring and recording progress of residents' therapy
  • Experience taking and recording residents' vital signs
  • Experience observing and recording changes in residents' behaviors and symptoms
  • You must have your CNA certificate to qualify for this position.
