“Echoes of Service”
Overview
“Echoes of Service” is a juried art exhibition honoring the creativity, resilience, and unique perspectives of U.S. military Veterans participating in the Idaho VA Veterans’ Creative Arts Collaborative. This show seeks to highlight the power of art as a means of expression, healing, and connection—showcasing the diverse voices of those who have served.
Hosted by Art Source Gallery and Idaho VA Veterans’ Creative Arts Collaborative, the exhibition will be held at 1516 Grove Street from February 1 through February 28, 2026. A public opening reception and recognition ceremony will take place on First Thursday February 5, 2026, inviting the community to engage with Veterans through their art.
Eligibility
Open to U.S. military Veterans participating in the Idaho VA Veterans’ Creative Art Collaborative.
Artists must be 18 years or older.
All artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist.
Artwork created in collaboration with other Veterans is welcome (please include all collaborators’ service details).
Accepted Media
Two- and three-dimensional works are welcome, including but not limited to:
Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, etc.)
Drawing and mixed media
Photography and digital art
Sculpture and ceramics
Printmaking and fiber art
No AI-generated work or reproductions will be accepted.
Requirements
Labels must be attached to the back of artwork: Artist, Title, Medium and Price. All 2D work must be on a wire hanger with D rings (no sawtooth or eye hook). Any work received that does not match the submitted image will be rejected and not hung. You may not substitute another piece once a piece is selected. Poor and unprofessional presentation and craftsmanship may also be cause of rejection.
Theme
Artists are invited to explore the theme “Echoes of Service” — The world through the Veterans lens, the impact of service, resilience, and endurance on the creative vision of Veterans. The theme is open-ended to encourage diverse expression.
Entry Guidelines
Artists may submit photographs up to 3 artworks for consideration.
All entries must be submitted via our website: Artsourcegallery.com.
Each submission must include:
Title, medium, dimensions, and year completed
Artist statement (150–250 words) describing the work and how the work was influenced through the experience of service.
Brief biography (100 words maximum)
Proof of military service (DD-214, military ID, or similar documentation)

Submission Deadline: January 2, 2026
Notification of Acceptance: January 19, 2026
Artwork Delivery Deadline: January 26, 2026
Exhibition Dates: February 1 through February 28, 2026
Opening Reception: February 5, 2026
Artwork Pickup/Return: March 2 through 6, 2026
Sales
All artwork must be for sale with a 30% commission by Art Source on all sold work. If work sells after the show as a direct result of the show, a commission will also be owed. Artists will be mailed a check within 10 days after the close of the show. Unsold works may be picked up after the exhibition closing date which is February 28, 2026.
Liability
All possible care will be taken with your work while in our Gallery. However, Art Source Gallery and its agents will assume no liability for damage or loss. You are advised to carry your own insurance on your work.
Image Use and Release
By submitting this application you are agreeing, in advance, to have your submitted artwork and your image be published to any print or digital/electronic medium in promotion of Art Source Gallery and its events without compensation or attribution. This includes, but is not limited to, print, and digital magazines, newsletters, websites, e-mails, social media pages and promotional material in perpetuity.
Juror(s)
This year’s show will be juried by Gia Strang, a respected figure in the arts and Veterans’communities. Works will be evaluated based on originality, craftsmanship, and emotional impact.
